There are many varieties of quartz of which, some qualify as gemstones. Quartz has a Mohs 7 on the hardness scale. The colors within the quartz are a product of other minerals mixed within.
This pink fortified piece of quartz also has a portion of the stone that qualifies for the agate designation, as it is transparent.
The stone is set in a custom sterling silver (0.925) setting.
